"****a magical effort, superbly staged and with memorable songs."
- Paul Isaacs, eye weekly

"One of the best original productions mounted on a Toronto stage in at least five years. All performances are marvellous."
- Alan Raeburn, Showbiz Weekly

"An original and it should be welcomed. ...it proves not to be the expected burleque bill but a rather expert pastiche of classic bedroom farce, part Moliere, part commedia dell'arte. It's rich and it's clever."
- Robert Cushman, National Post

"What I’m particularly impressed with is how a man with such a heavy presence in the musical community can branch into comedic playwriting with such panache; the script has the audience in stitches for the full two hours."
-Karen Whaley, The Strand

“…don't look for comparisons to Tommy here. Tequila is more off-the-wall and more fun… (Quain's) multi-toned music and special brand of biting lyrics are the solid anchor”
- Jon Kaplan, NOW Magazine

In a remote Mexican town a troupe of mysterious performers descends upon a sleepy cantina. Mayhem follows as drinks flow, hearts break, blood spills and everyone bursts into song in this sordid tale of intrigue, obsession and betrayal. An irreverent retelling of Pagliacci from the renowned Queen Street “garage jazz cabaret artist” Kevin Quain .
